One Thing That I Can't Live Without

If I were to be stranded on an island , and could only have one thing,

I'd bring my mother's perseverance, something that's so important to me.

This is something that I can't live without; without it, I wouldn't be breathing.

When life gets hard, and times get tough, that's the only thing I'll be needing

With my mother's perseverance, I can soar and fly, and live my wildest dreams.

With her strength and determination, I can accomplish any and everything.

Yes, I'll be all by myself, for no one would be with me

But I'd have the blessing of nature, to enjoy in the time being

My mother's perseverance is so strong that I'd need nothing else.

So strong that I'd be able to make it while I'm stranded, all by myself

With her perseverance, life is worth living

Regardless of any circumstances, with her perseverance I'd be winning.

I'd lose the ability to communicate with mankind

I'd forget what affection and what love once felt  like

I'd have no one there physically to lean on when I'm weak

I'd probably lose my mind, in a place so lonely, for human interaction I couldn't seek

But I'd have my mother's perseverance to keep me alive; that's the only thing I need.

With  this perseverance, I'd make something out of nothing

And with her wisdom, I'd find the strength from within to keep running

Running toward serenity with my predicaments and my life

I'd be strong enough to find the means for me to survive.
