One Of Those Days

Today is one of those days where everyone seems to be moving forward and all you can seem to do is take 10 steps back, and then leave the room.

Today is one of those days where the smiles of others can’t be returned because it hurts to try and smile when all you want to do is curl up and cry.

Today is one of those days where time just needs to stop and rewind, but instead it just seems someone smashed the fast-forward button, and you’re sprinting, trying to keep up.

Today is one of those days where everything seems to be falling apart at the seams and you don’t have a needle to sew it back together.

Today is one of those days where everyone’s happiness seems to be mocking you into seclusion, shoving you into the attic and locking the the door shut behind you.

Today is one of those days where every hug and sincere encouragement would make all the difference, if only they were said aloud.

Today is one of those days where you feel small in a crowded room, like a mouse trying to escape the trampling feet of those who loom above.

Today is one of those days where even God seems to have checked out, despite your cries for His attention.

Today is one of those days where you can’t really appreciate the fact that the sun is shining for the first time in the past week.

Today is one of those days where your paint is chipping away around the edges, but no one takes the time to apply a fresh coat.

Today is one of those days where a tender kiss on the shoulder is absorbed into the bloodstream, but is never pumped back into the heart.
