One Too Many

It’s half past three,

Almost everything’s asleep,

Only two sounds can be heard.

A father stumbling around upstairs,

And a mother trying to calm and quiet her son.

Sometimes when we are caught in the wraps of life,

We seem to forget we are hurting people.

And most of the time,

It’s the people who care and love us most.

Why would they hurt if they didn’t care?

It doesn’t have to hurt them physically,

But it can hurt them emotionally.

Which in the end,

might just end up hurting them physically.

So before you go out,

Stop, take a breath, and think if you should go.
