One True Sentence

Hemingway once said

"All you have to do is write one true sentence."

So I took that in to consideration

I contemplated everything that I knew

And everything that I have ever written

Love began to seem more like a distant friend that moved a thousand miles away
And neither  Facebook nor Twitter or any other means of communication
would permit our romance to stay

Fear was the old man living in my attic
Peeking down every now and then to see me frantic
It's pathetic I know but I still go numb thinking of the monsters in my room

Depression was the stand up comedian in my room
Telling me that the universe might be big
But there is no room for me
It's a sick joke utilizing reality
To feed the fear and keep me down
As the ghostly audience applauded in laughter

My heart is going faster and faster
My vision is fading slower and slower
I have no power

This is where I am
No control
As the curled up clown let out its hysterical laughter
After telling my story
My failed attempts at love
My regrets and shameful moments
Everyday seemed like a new installment
For today's form entertainment

And I can tell you right now I'm pretty sick of it
I'm not sick of the fact that these entities exist in my life
I'm more ticked off at the fact that they have more of a say in my life than I do
So sorry if I seem a little tense
This is just something that has been needed to get off my chest

This is my truest sentence
I have control And with this pen I will establish my dominance
I will shatter the thin line between honesty and brutality
I will grant me the honor in calling my self a writer
Even though I don't know what that truly means

What does it mean
Is it my ability to take words
And place them in a pretty structure
To make them sound elegant
Or is it me confessing my sins
And if you know you'll know that's pretty ironic
But in telling you right now it's the only way I feel less toxic
So here we go

1. I am a failure

2. I am dense

3. I can never keep a serious face so excuse the smile

4. I am ignorant like a follower but philosophical like a teacher

5. I suffer to make others happy

6. I am to shy to voice my opinion because I fear hurting someone

7. I wish I knew more about myself

8. I sometimes sit in the dark looking out the window waiting for the wind to take me away molecule by molecule until I no longer exist

9. I'm pretty sure when I get to ten I'll be done

10. Actually no there is so much more to say and it's not in here so I'll leave you with this

11. I am a writer and a pretty damn good one
