One Vote

To vote is to be

a citizen of your country.

Your voice can be heard

and be put into word.

It is your way

To seize the day

Over the years

many shed tears,

for they had no rights

to keep them safe through the nights.

A hundred years later

the voters are greater.

Yet many are still denied

the right that lets them decide.

Everyone should have a vote

either urban or remote,

to make an important choice

expressed in their own voice.

One vote can make a difference

its rids you of indifference.

It can change a life

erase signs of strife.

It can decide the election

erase any previous projection.

Every vote has the power

to change the leader of the hour.

Each one has place

in the result of the election race.
