One Way
Sometimes things happens
Stuff you can’t stop
Those times in your life
Where you’re put on the clock
Those moments when you’re out-voted
And you’re forced to do as told
No matter how dreary
No matter how cold
Those times when the world comes to a halt
And people stop and stare
When they cheer you on
To tell you they’re there
When you stand out in the distance
Cold and alone
With no one around
You stand like stone
Waiting for you to go
Waiting for you to leave
Not caring what you do
As long as they are pleased
It’s always been their choice
There has always been one way
It’s only up to them
It’s not your choice to stay
They stay there waiting
Their decision is made
And you must comply
I wish I had stayed
