One Window

One window is all I need

to see my neighbor steal my news paper.

To see into the homes of strangers

for Tom to peep on me.

To see how non-active people are

to see that I need to buy more Windex.

For me to see the world doesn’t change

to see life pass me by.

To know I need curtains.
