The Ones That Faith Abandoned

Among crowds of your faith, your beliefs, your ways, we are singled out, and you put us at bay. We cannot change who we are, we were born like this. If we could choose, why would we want to be so amiss? When you think that only your view is right, it’s bound to obscure the raw truths from your sight. We are still good people, not dirty or wrong. Why would you think that we still don’t belong? I wish that faith wasn’t so imposing, so rigid. It makes your hearts seem so far away, so frigid. If only your beliefs weren’t masking your eyes, You could see all the wars, all the deaths, all the lies that have risen from your stubborn ways of thinking, a theory based on nothing but hope and believing. That what? That you are always correct? That your own sons and daughters don’t deserve your respect? That you would abandon them if they didn’t follow your laws? That their own selves have so many flaws? Can’t you see that we are by ourselves in this fight? Not even our parents help guide us to the light. Forgotten, disowned, no one will be by our side. Our families, our friends, we have been denied. Left alone in the darkness, all because of your faith. Hoping you’ll soon see the truth, we sit here and wait.
