This one's for you

A slow soft thudding in my ears My heart beating in rhythm with tears Your hand gliding on my skin My breath growing deeper with in You tell me it's just not meant to be You lay out the classic "It's not you it's me" And you were gone Leaving me wondering where I went wrong Nightmares raged through my nights My attitude extended and caused so many fights I cried as I remembered you walking away Spent nights wishing I had asked you to stay They say if you love something let it go But what if it was never yours from the get-go? What if he just had some sick scheme That resulted in the pain of him using me It was all so real and so true Well it was for me, but not for you You were a devil in disguise A heartless boy full of lies I hated you for the longest time I told everyone I was fine But eventually my hate went in the air Because in order to hate, you have to care.
