This One's For You

Dear Big Brother,

That day we talked on the phone you told me you wanted a better life for yourself, and you explained to me how you are working on yourself and you are trying you really are. Not only that but even though the condition you have, you still told me that you are trying and that you didn’t want to be that same guy from before. I tried to hold in my tears because I knew that if I were to cry you would cry too and there would be no stopping it. I carried on the conversation by asking you how your treatments were going and you told me it was fine and that you are getting better. I tried to talk to you about something else but you just kept cutting me off with saying that you are going to apply for a job and that just made me happy because I knew this was a new chapter in your life a new change that I was ready to see. We also talked about dad and our other 2 brothers and you told me that you were able to hang out with them and have a  brothers night out and also you were able to talk to dad which I was happy for.

We got to some point in our conversation where you told me that the reason you are trying to have a better life is because Dad inspires you since he works so hard and our two brothers inspires you because they are also hard workers finally when you said that I also inspire you, I bursted out in tears but I tried my best to keep talking to you and I managed to keep talking. That’s when I realized that I had to keep going because not only did I want to make you proud I wanted to inspire you to keep going, even though life gets hard I wanted you to keep going even though you are the oldest I know it’s hard. So I write this letter to you, you tell me to keep going and that I should keep my head held high so I tell you this just how you were there for me as a kid I am also here for you, we’ve had our ups and downs but our bond is unbreakable. Although there is not a lot of people with schizophrenia I want to tell you that you are one heck of a strong brother, I saw how those treatments made you feel and you tried so hard to fight and get better.

So this phone call we had was like prayer answered having hope that you will have a better life even with schizophrenia you are going to do great in life and I know you are strong enough to handle it  because you are my brother and we always be here to support because we love you and all we want is for you to keep going also remember  this bond is unbreakable. I also want you to remember that God is with you and only he will give you the strength you need by reading his word and praying. Love you and Just Keep Going.

Sincerely.

Your Little Sister
