Only 4/11

I’m only 4 years and 11 months old

I’m almost 5 and I’m bold

I can speak,read and learn

I’m the voice for my family

To survive, protect, and stand

but still I’m hopeless

My moms crying and all I can give

Is my hand to hold

I folded these hands to pray

I want more

I only have 4 years and 11 weeks

I’m going to graduate and I have goals

I can have a career, money, and dreams

I’m the voice for many people

To inspire, improve, and love

but still I’m hopeless

I’m falling and people are depending on me

Depression and anxiety crept in

I’m no longer the voice I wished to be

But life is so short

I have to live it now

I want more

I’m only 4 feet and 11 inches

I’m devastated and I’m short

I have debts to pay, my credits bad

and I lost my sense of direction

I have gone to therapy, but wasn’t much help

I try and try and still come up short

But still I’m hopeful

I’m ready to be and I have support

I do have independence, connections, and experience

I’m my own voice

To project, focus, and understand

I want to live my best life
