Only After

Only after the storm does it feel new,

The air charged with lightning,

Echoing with touch of thunder,

Ground nourished and glistening.

Only during the storm do I cry.

Only after the sunrise,

Does light flood the world,

Waking all with golden rays,

Drenching the air with its warm scent.

Only during the night I am real.

Only after I am gone,

I admit to every lie,

Will the truth be said about that time,

My words will be clear.

Only now you will never know my heart.
