Only Because She Noticed

When I was small and undiscovered

Undefined, uncreated, blank

I stumbled through a poem for my class

Unsuspecting, unknowing, amateur

A teacher grabbed hold of my newfound skill

Unpolished, understanding, of me

She published it, giving me the courage

Unique, unclouded, love for writing

Teachers must love and notice, to make students that love and notice

Teachers that show support and passion, create writers with passion

Teachers come from writers, writers who were taught to love poetry
