 Colossians 2:23          New English Translation

23 Even though they have the appearance of wisdom

with their self-imposed worship and humility achieved by an unsparing treatment

of the body—a wisdom with no true value—they, in reality, result in fleshly indulgence.

Man in his fallen condition surely is ruled by the flesh,

And in his position here, he is thoroughly corrupted

Simply because powers of darkness rule his will

Evil intent goes on, and only through Christ be interrupted

One can appear religious in this fallen condition

Sing praises with an empty heart and really has no clue

Emotion makes you feel at home as there is no fruition

After all the fullness comes as a gift and not in what you do
