Only Hope (Day Four)
I...cry/
I should have a purple heart as proof/
The way when my heart turns purple when it is deprived of oxygen during my fits/
My bouts of depression, I deserve a medal the way I fight through it, is what I'm trying to say/
But my tears always seem to make their way to the outside of my face/
Or let me not say that. Because I happen to have a very good impression of a mime/
I cry clown tears/
You will never see me cry on the outside, but the tears are there all the same/
Or should I call them tears/
Because the tears come from the tears of my heart/
And how they were ever ripped open in the first place remains a mystery/
I will be completely honest with you, they aren't tears, they are fractures/
And I'm afraid. What happens if one more impact/
One thing I couldn't brace for/
Will I be picking up the bloody contents that will be found under my feet/
How can I live without a heart? I couldn't tell you/
But what I can tell you is that grace is the glue that keeps me together in my weakness/
What I realized is that I am already broken/
But I still operate/
The blows have been coming, and coming, and coming, but I'm still here/
Because no matter what I've been through, God has came through!/
He is my only hope, you see, I see nothing but grace/
I didn't pull through, this isn't me/
Outside of God, I am a bloody mess/
I have scrapes, bruises, contusions, I am dead inside/
But my father has raised me to life/
