The Only Love I Know

Maybe she’ll stop crying

Maybe he’ll stop yelling

Maybe she’ll tell him she loves him

Maybe he’ll tell her he’s sorry

Maybe they won’t tear each other down

Maybe he’ll set a good example

Maybe she’ll find her strength

Maybe he’ll teach her how to heal

Maybe she’ll show him how to love

Maybe they’ll make it easy to handle

It’s not easy loving you

It’s like being back at home

It’s like I’m the reason

It’s World War III

It’s the only love I know

Maybe I’ll stop crying

Maybe you’ll stop yelling

Maybe I’ll tell you I love you

Maybe you’ll say you’re sorry

Maybe we can build each other up

You were the bad example I followed

I was afraid to say no to you

You didn’t let me heal

I didn’t know how to make you love

This wasn’t easy to handle

She didn’t leave him

I won’t let go of you

He didn’t make her smile

You still make me cry

It’s the only love I know
