Only Medusa

Thu, 10/10/2019 - 14:23 -- Avanlue

The silence is deafening

The walls are cold and lined with cracks

I can still see his face in the water

I’m alone

This place is broken and worn

Nature refuses to dance here

My family has turned away from me

And I wait

They come from all over

Cars, buses, bikes, it doesn’t matter anymore

The only thing they want is me served on a plate

I will wait

She said I had betrayed her

Stoned her into rubble

A siren who can only terrorize

I'm a disgrace

He said he loved me

Said I was his only

What else is a heart to do

But love?

No one can understand nor look past a simple face

Water shows only reflections

Dead or alive

They all perish the same

Tears stain my cheeks

A voice faintly whispers my name

Snakes eyes pierce my soul and I freeze

Another calls my name…

Medusa...
