Only-ness

Amos 5:19

19 Disaster will be inescapable,
as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear,
then escaped into a house,
leaned his hand against the wall,
and was bitten by a poisonous snake.

Only-ness

A country so large with a man so only ... completely lost in self.

Spaces far beyond the gazing … but within the reach of time

So many folks always surrounding … loneliness within help

Untouchable like herds grazing … beyond the thoughts of mine.

All alone with the help of others … always turning away from self

to the emptiness of the amazing … acting like all things are fine.

Stillness perceived in another … who is also lost beyond help

up or down in mental pacing … in a life removed from rhyme

Hunger leads for recognition … to be admired for self

and in thirst never facing … reality out of its prime.

Logging on to a destination ... ignoring the hands to help

never to be the same again ... faking now all in mime.
