Only Our Words

Dear Katie,

In the world we live in, words are all we know.

Online, over text, there are an endless supply of words.

Words are how we met. The words of make-believe people at that.

We put words into their mouths over and over.

They didn't mind. They couldn't tell.

As they spoke our relationship grew, and we began to talk by ourselves.

Because words are all we know.

Only our words will help us grow.

For many more words to come,

Gretchen
