Only a Robot

The salty streams flow from my eyes—

What, may I ask, is their cause?

No pain ails me— not of any size,

Why then does my happiness pause?

Life has hindered my joy.

I can’t think for myself; I’m caught in the crowd,

Only a robot covered with rust.

At least I feel emotion— yes I may feel proud,

But a melancholy life is unjust.

Hope is the only thing keeping me around.
