Only Thing We Have to Fear is Fear Itself
I Am... Scholarship Slam
Fear overcomes, it conquers, it consumes.
Spinning out of control,
in and out of my own head I fall.
"Breathe," says a voice,
"Choke," says another.
I no longer know which voice is me anymore.
In the past month, I have lost weight, sleep, and friends.
But more importantly, I've lost my mind.
It's not what you have that defines you, but what you do.
I have to surely disagree.
Because who would I be without my demons?
Where would I be if their constant persistence didn't motivate me?
I wouldn't be here.
I wouldn't be me.
So I let it overcome, let it conquer, let it consume.
I let it become me.
