The only truth

Some say existence is pain. Are they right, or do they just live in vain? Some say you can live but never be alive. Maybe we fear failure so we never take the dive. Some say love is overrated. Maybe our concept of love is outdated. Truth is we're all afraid to close the distance Trapped between our own flaws and shame that cause resistance. We've become the very creatures of the night The ones you saw as a kid as they crept in the absence of light. Afraid to truly be seen by others without darkness as our cover. I say you never truly know someone whether its your mother or lover.

Thank you for such positive feedback and also for showing me that other people feel the same way as I do.

This is a beautiful poem.

“We’ve become the very creatures of the night, the ones you saw as a kid as they crept in the absence of light.”

This really resonates with me because as a child, as a lot of sensitive children can relate, my creativity and light and curiosity were boundless. Love didn’t have a price tag. It didn’t keep score. It was unconditional because I was unafraid of flaws. I was unafraid to trust and be vulnerable. I aspired to be light and love every single day, and as I started to grow up, I lost my way. I begin to let pain deter me from allowing my heart to be open. I cowered at the thought of being the real, genuine me with no filters or facades. I let people tell me that I cared too much. My love was too intense. I was too emotional. And I’m just starting to realize that my empathy and my sensitivity isn’t a weakness, it’s my greatest strength.

There really are people out there who will understand you. They can read every voice inflection, facial expression, hesitation...every output of energy. And they won’t use it to exploit you, but to love you, heal you, and nurture the parts of you other people rejected. In a society that loves selfishly based off of what can be gained or even taken from the other person, I’ve noticed that a lot of people are afraid of me and people like me because they think that if they allows themselves to develop deeper spiritual connections, they’ll be hurt or abandoned, and it breaks my heart to see people living in fear. Limiting, conditional, stagnant, shallow love is very much so outdated to me. Personally, I’m starting to realize just how good it feels to be free.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s a confirmation that I’m on the right track.
