Only You

We are blinded by what we want to see

that we don't notice the reality.

Living in a dream,

our thoughts are limitless,

we don’t know where to go.

Mindlessly going around with our eyes closed,

to an unknown place, to an unknown world.

Like an explorer, with no goals.

Looking around endlessly trying to find what life is giving to us,

missing out on what is right there in front of us.

We have nothing more to lose

So put the past behind us.

Who cares about everything else,

At this moment we are alive and beautiful.

when you are yourself,

you shine the brightest.

Even if it’s a road of thorns,

Continue running.

If you think you’re gonna crash

Step on the pedal harder.

Check your garage, the odd sock in your drawer

But have you even put into the consideration

to check the mirror?

THAT’S where poems have been hiding.

THAT’S what you need to re-invent.

Only you can find yourself.

Only you can make change.

Only YOU are your own poem.
