I can no longer see

My eyes dilate to see something but

The clouds are too black

The wind blows me with such

A force that I cannot control my own body

The trees twist and turn

Blocking my path to freedom

As the darkness comes closer

I reach through the tree limbs

They scratch and tear at my skin

Blood runs down my arm

As I try to extend my hand to freedom

Where is the light

The darkness is almost near

Tree limbs cut through me even more

Until I can barely move my arms

Until

My fingertip

The skin on my fingertip

Can feel warmth
