Opaque Transparence
I know you can't see the conflicting pain accumulating inside of me,
All you see is the painted-on mask conveying glee.
Yes, thats me; I'm a fake whether asleep or awake;
But for crying out loud, for Christ's sake, stop pretending that life's like a peaceful lake!
Stop! Stop!
Stop! Before I give up, before I fall to the floor; yes, before I drop!
Like a raindrop; seemingly e m p t y, v o i d, w e i g h t l e s s...
Yet when you're asked to hop, you ask "how high," you know you try your best!
But they say you're worthless...
Tryna say I'm a pencil without a point; POINT-LESS?
Well, here's the confirmation to your guess.
I'm a strong, tall, bright woman; who's not gonna be restricted by your blight!
I'm a tiny little kernel ready to pop into a great corn; you just can't see it yet!
I'm that stainless steel trumpet, come blow my horn;
Pshhht, forget it, don't even try because you will regret!
Regret, touching my bone of steel and skin of fire;
Through my dragon mouth reveals who you are, a LIAR!
You lie to yourself about the good and the bad,
You lie about things you don't have but wish you could've had.
But still I'm just here holding on to the end,
Wondering when the end will t r u l y e n d . ..
