Open

Open doors

They say.

Open minds

No way.

Welcome me in

But don't let me stay.

Contracted time

On Wednesdays.

The rest of the week

I'm not allowed to speak.

You're trying to help

But you make me feel weak.

I need more time

You just want to go.

You value my thoughts?

That's not what I know.

I know you feel bad

For the one who falls behind.

But your commitment is small

You don't keep me in mind.

You extend your hand

But not your full arm.

I guess you're afraid

I will cause only harm.

But teacher

I want you to know.

If you pointed the way

I would go.

If you opened your heart

I would grow.
