An open letter to the words that race around my head
The words jump off of the page and
leaps into the abyss of my brain.
The twist of each stanza,
the sway of each rhyme.
Everytime she's read she has has a new meaning.
10 year old me dreaded her awaited company
11 year old me hated the right and wrong to her analytics
12 year old me saw her like a monster
untill,
13 year old me needed her the most
Poetry has twisted my mind in ways unheard of
she has grabed my timid hand
she's guided me along my journey
AND MOST OF ALL,
she has allways been there for me
Anxiety hit my ninth grade year
poetry was there to catch me
when I fell with no one behind me
poetry found a way to break through shackles and embrace me
When I was wounded and not ready to push on
poetry's words,
in their confusing manner
held me up and bandaged those wounds
Like a roadrunner she kept me from the black hole
and she allowed me to wrinkle my time
Poetry I love you
please never leave me
