Open My Eyes

Look outside.

Find a reason why you feel this way.

You seem happy.

You seem serene.

You seem strong.

All I hear are lies.

I'm confined.

I have searched and returned empty handed.

I am sad

I am agitated.

I am weak.

My silence is resonant.

But my words are barely audible.

Nobody can hear me when I speak.

But yet when I refuse to speak is when they question my reasoning.

Let me be alone.

So I don't hurt anyone else.

Or myself.
