Opened MY EYES

Not only did you stick around for the good times but you caused most of the bad. You had a way of keeping me tied that completely surpassed all my comprehension of who I was or what I was doing. I loss the sense of what mattered and all I truly cared about. I was so deep within the idea of all you meant to me that the concept of breathing was only attractive because it meant I would stick around longer in the halls of your company. I’ve never felt such strong restraints of hopelessness as when I was attempting to alter my ways of life apart from you. But it truly opened my eyes to the idea of what true pain was. You let me see what it felt like to be pushed aside and endure the feeling of slipping under as another just stood above only to laugh. I was able to fully understand the reasons for why I felt like I couldn’t breathe anymore; from staring at the imprinted trail your feet have left over me. I don’t regret the times shared, the pain resisted, or the lessons learned because they truly led me to the discoveries of greater things. The accumulation of sorrow led me to my ultimate breakthrough. I didn’t realize how far below I had fallen till I took a moment to glance up above me. You opened my eyes to find better in myself from the excuses of your misjudgment. You unconsciously taught me the differences between being worthy and all that was not. The experiences with you have expanded my skills of analyzing and understanding past world horizons I would have never thought were possible. You opened my eyes to a brighter future because the mistakes with you simply pointed out the brighter path by depicting what was wrong. Your reasoning drew me to love the colors of the rainbow after the storms of your rain, for only then could I visualize the promise of the higher power that lies within my reach. I no longer cry to the reminders of your absence but rather laugh at the foolishness of your presence. The scars of your mistreatment have become nothing more than a blank space in my timeline. For I have installed within myself the ability to relate to only things of importance. And it has imprinted in me your gift of empowerment of one self through the ridicule of others. So thanks for holding the door open to the universe of endless opportunities and simply letting yourself out when the useless were asked to relocate themselves. Urs Truly Nana
