Opening Up

Mon, 05/05/2014 - 10:26 -- Jay_M
When I speak my mind, I speak my heart
My mind is where whole worlds start
My heart to them full life imparts
And with my words turns them to art
When I speak my mind, I speak my heart

When I speak my mind, I speak my soul
I speak the words that make me whole
A piece of me the only toll
To try to fill a lonely hole
When I speak my mind, I speak my soul

When I speak my mind, I speak my pain
Release for hurt the only gain
To free the tears that fall like rain
If sorrow is my one refrain
When I speak my mind, I speak my pain

When I speak my mind, I speak my life
My fight through pain and fear and strife
My path through joy sharp as a knife
Lessons with which my time is rife
When I speak my mind, I speak my life

When I speak my mind, I say what I am
When I speak the words I can't try to dam
And drop the masks I usually sham
Or lose the fear that my throat jams
When I speak my mind, I say what I am
