Opposing Desires

White flares slice the ocean crust

the brassy flameletes taunt

 and torment the sea foam

War drums echo off the salty shoreline

Long flicks of the ruby mane provoke

a hissing from the waves

the opposing side;

co-existence

is not foreseeable.

Waves tackle the golden

coast engulfed in hot ambers

a tangled web of fire surrounds the

salty sea. Black sky stained with

soot.

 rain like amber coal

 desperately trying

to reclaim

the soil. The battle rages on.

fiery breaths wheeze and crackle

the silver liquid victoriously pierce

the scarlet flames

the warmth fades and floats

with the smooth waves of the

tranquil sea
