Opposites Attract

She was his antonym,

Bright and warm and carefree

And she was not meant to be with him

And because she knew so, so did he.

She had not known love before

So she settled to be content,

Never to have passion, never to adore,

Never to find what it really meant.

Time crawled forward, she did regret her past,

But still she chose to stay.

Stars shine brightest with the greatest contrast,

But settle for mere dimness anyway.

I try really hard to not write angsty stuff, but that seems to be a theme for me. I love painting and guitar, but writing’s pretty fun too!
