Opressor
Hands splayed out strong, pressing hard on my chest
Fingers thrusting in, one gust of wind knocks me down
Into the dirt, under your feet, with shadows coming around;
Above me you laugh, striking away the pest
A bully whom I so detest.
If faith in you has taught me something, besides trust in nothing
Even after our bonding, as a redeeming value of true kin
Would it be blithely unsuspecting that cruel sin?
My dangling dreams and dank desires wrought with such clarity
Believing in you, and you deceiving just barely
Now you’re ripping up pieces of my own security
Crumbling into the grim, cheek against the grass
Your deception in mind, a pleading in my heart
I am wishing, hoping, praying for a new start,
But a friend’s betrayal will always last
And through the grimaces appears my mask.
