Optimism
Always, I carry with me my rose colored glasses.
Through them, every cloud has a silver lining.
I carry my determination
so that I can reach the light at the end of the tunnel.
I carry my strength
so that when one door closes,
I can push open another one.
I carry my goggles.
Goggles of perspective,
so that I can always see
that there are many fish in the sea.
I carry my pessimistic thoughts,
in a tiny, weighted, tightly locked box.
Out of blind optimism, I carry the thought
that I can open the box,
because what's inside
may not be pessimistic at all.
I carry my better judgement,
that seals the box away.
Always I carry with me my optimism.
I carry with me a glass.
The glass is half full.
I carry with me the lemons that life has handed me.
Now, I carry a glass half filled with lemonade.
In order to look on the brightside,
I must always carry my rose colored glasses.
