An Optimist and a Pessimist

Your eyes glisten with love and seek gain,

My eyes only see pain.

Your mouth drips words of kindness

Mine, speaks songs of dryness.

You choose to find hope while I cower in fear.

We just choose what we hear.

You and I, cannot be broken.

You receive and you cope and I, feel the unspoken.

Gentle laughter you broke in, yet tears I awoke in.

We both can become what we strive to be,

They just choose to see what they want to see.
