Or So I Say
To love is to live
Or so they say
It'll be like a drive
Forcing you away
No one said it would be this hard
To stay afloat with heart in hand
Just like a house of cards
Always trying and failing to stand
This is not love
It is a forced contract
To be caged like a dove
It is just too abstract
Mornings filled with smiles
Evening feel like bubbles
It goes on for miles
Never any troubles
To love is to live
Or so I say
I can't see clearly
My eyes shut because of the swelling
I say sincerely
"It started with some yelling"
He told me he did it
"Because I love you"
But it all turned into a fit
Filled with many spots of blue
This is not love
It is just death in a disguise
And I am just a dove
While he watches me dies
"Because I love you"
I got to leave
To where, I haven't got a clue
But no time to grieve
To find my morning smiles
And my daily struggles
With someone who can stand my trials
And understands my troubles
Or so I say.
