or so I thought

I

Wanted to write a poem like

All the other ones do

It had to rhyme, it had to be good

It had to teach something

Like a test with the lesson given

Because I could write something worth reading

And I am living something worth writing about

Or so I heard

The weaving words that surmount my mind

Turns inside to trap the day left behind and bring it forth

Like new in a mask with the same intent to stay blessed

While the critical thinking ability maintains the activity of stressing

When it is much easier to humble under greater power and tremble

Because of it

The tangible answers waver and the theoretical ones halter

Why falter in my faith

If I’m wrong or right

I may or may not know

I’m dead

This is only a dream

I am only dreaming

Or so I thought
