Or So They Say

I tied a knot in the water

And the rain turned from blue to black

Because it’s easier to bleed than to cry

Or so they say

The sound of glass breaking

And the shattered snowflake stars

Glitter on the cement

That we’ll all fall under someday

But no one cares

He says our lives

Are forfeit

But she fires back a missle:

All of our lives

Are forfeit

Someday

He says she’ll

Die

But she fires back a missle:

We’ll all

Die

Someday

Because

They freeze the mind

They melt the flesh

They tan the skin

And when nothing’s left

We tie our knots in the water

And they turn our rain from blue to black

Because it’s easier to bleed than to cry

Or so they say
