With or without

I could talk about love

or I could talk about the ones I love

I could talk about all the things that make me feel less alone

or even the things that make me feel like I was never alone at all

I could live without it all

but even if I could, why would I want to

the heartbreaks, the stress, the nights my life felt like an incurable mess,

even those that made me cry, silently I'd whisper "you're my favorite lullaby",

a life without the things that made me whole

if I were to ever be without them, let me die in a hole

with or without the things I need

if I never had them at all I wouldn't even be able breathe
