Oracle

I need this, darling-

I cannot go without-

Please, if you can, give me a chance to be something wonderful,

Here in this place of saints and legends, I am but a scribe, boasting as an artist-

In reality, I wish to be an oracle,

But oracles die, at times by their own mighty, tattooed hands-

I don’t want to go that way, but bless me with a taste of what I fear,

And give me the courage to handle it, like my beloved muse, naked and unscathed, inspired and brilliant-

Sing in my ear what I am to do, and make my hands fast enough.

I don’t have too much longer.

But with your ghost on my shoulder, I’ll be beautiful, yet.

Take care of me, and I will be your pretty pet.
