Orange Juice

Orange juice

Sloshes around its container as I shake it

Flows into the glass as I pour it

Leaves its tangy flavor on my tongue as I taste it.

My taste buds applaud

But my mouth protests at the enrance of pulp

Clogging the citric liquid

And leaving my mouth yearning for purity

I Iong for a filter

To eliminate the pulp and return the juice

To its natural purity

So am I

As the orange juice

Clogged by the burdens and problems of life

Tarnished by my circumstances.

I long for a filter to eliminate my pulp

Rid my life of its distracions and obstacles

Return my existece to its own natural purity

Who I used to be before life took hold of me

Dealt me its pulp

And left me with a glass of unfiltered orange juice.
