An Order of Necessity
My life has been an order of necessity
Met with scarcity
As if no one cares for me
Yet they’re all expecting the Best from me (lol)
I
Wake up, Brush teeth
Comb hair, Be sweet
Wash up, Clean feet
Go to school, repeat
Calculating my plans through every beat
On aching feet
Rain, snow, or sleet
In scorching heat
I’M READY
Oh so ready to conquer my defeats
BUT
Who Am I in the midst of these “Repeats”
A Surgeon
With ease I appease the disease
The disease of brokenness
With the cure of togetherness
An Astronaut
I proclaim my declaration of fascination
For new explorations
Indeed, I’m destined to reach my destinations
Lastly a Lawyer
I speak on the behalf of the weak and meek
Those who are unable to do so for themselves
In unison with youth
I am an advocate for truth
Fried French Fries and vanilla Ice cream
Are the things my tummy dreams
Each dip & intake makes my belly ache!
… For more
The only girl of all boys was most definitely rough
But in the end
It was enough to make this girl tough
Growing up in a single parent home
Poor mother was expected to do everything alone
Never knew the feeling of calling someone ‘Dad’
Maybe because that was something I never thought I had
However, Because of Grace
I’ve been saved through Faith
I now have a father above who showers me with his mercy & Love
I found myself lost
Until I heard of the crucifixion at the cross
Through his Legacy is where I find my Identity
Old things are passed away
Every sin has been washed away
This is the New SHAY
