ordinary things

you

taught me the

beauty and love in

ordinary things.

the

cracks

on the sidewalk

and

the lines on

a woman’s face;

the

wetness of

morning grass

and

the clink of

windchimes.

alas,

i am

an ordinary thing,

and you

forgot to

love me

like the cracks

in the sidewalk

and the lines on

a woman’s face.

the pummel

of

rain

atop your roof and

summer nights

that stretch

for an eternity.

i am an

ordinary thing,

but i

will never

be held

in the same regards

as the

nature you so adore.

i am an

ordinary thing,

but you

will never

love me.
