Orion

You, standing there within the bounds of possibility.

Perilous but ever so intriguing,

Fearless, you reach out and take me under your wing,

Everyday, side by side,

You gave that awkward teenage girl the confidence to say no,

Seeing your was smile was all I needed to be happy,

The golden wasp’s weight was just enough,

To set the whole leaf-filled vine in motion.

You have no idea how much you mean to me,

and you never can,

Because you would get scared,

And I know I’m helpless,

But I don’t care,

You said to me,

“you think too much”,

And of course I know that’s true,

But how ironic when I realized,

All I think about is you.

Everything is changing,

Day by day we don’t notice,

People you thought were going to be there forever aren’t,

I have not seen your eyes in so long,

I have forgotten the way they look,

I know they were bright, alike to no other,

I don’t remember the way you saw through them,

All you are is a memory,

A memory I am more in love with than the person standing in front of me.
