Orthodontics Transformation
There are several careers that capture my attention, and they’re aerospace engineering, dentistry, optometry, and biological engineering. However, out of all these I personally believe that my life would vastly change if I were to become a dentist, specifically an orthodontist. As an individual who had braces for almost 2 years and made monthly visits to the dentist, I’ve experienced one on one contact with the dentist. Although other jobs may be highly interesting and captivating, I think dentistry would certainly change my life in a variety of ways starting from the patient to the location I work.
To begin with, orthodontics would change my life because I would be helping people who have teeth irregularities. People often feel belittled and criticized for the way their unaligned teeth or gingivitis, the inflammation of gums. Therefore, I, as a dentist, could help them get a clean smile and ensure people preserve oral health and hygiene. As a result, assisting people with their teeth could help them feel more confident about themselves and at the same time this would change me as a whole. By providing others with my service and dedication to their oral health, I would change the outlook on my life because this would demonstrate that I’m a useful person that’s satisfying people’s lives, and I’m helping them feel positive about their oral appearance. Moreover, this would help elevate my self-esteem because I’m being a promoter of oral hygiene as well as teeth alignment. Likewise, this job would increase my level of confidence and make me feel as an individual with a purpose in this world who exists to provide service for those in need of braces.
Besides improving the lives of people and in return receiving feeling of achievement, orthodontics could change my life because I’d have the opportunity to cooperate with high-class individuals. After graduating from college and finally receiving the opportunity to reach a job where only the most determined can make it will thus make me feel like a successful person. Furthermore, reaching this goal would be only one achievement, however, by cooperating with others whom have been hard-workers to get to the place they stand would symbolize achievement. This would change my life because after coming from a family of a mediocre life, in terms of society placement, this would bolster my person as a whole. For example, as an average person, I just disappear into the mist of the thousands of individuals who are in the same boat. However, if I were to become a person with a profession that’s highly admired and respected for its difficulty to reach, nonetheless, I would feel as an accomplished and triumphant person in life others can look up to.
Although iPods and laptops are already fascinating technological advancements we can use in our daily lives, they’re incomparable to the opportunity to be able to use most modern advancements used in orthodontics. For example, in the dentist, the orthodontist are able to use machines to take x-rays of your teeth and jaws to evaluate the method or process they’re going to use in order to align your teeth. The ability to use this technology is overwhelming itself, but the reason you have the opportunity to use them is more valuable. Plus, this technology is expensive and can only be used by those who studied how to use it correctly when a patient is being checked. Although most people don’t recall the difficulty it was to attempt to fix teeth without all these modern technologies, it comes to show how our lives have been facilitated by the invention of them. As a result, the ability to use such valuable technology that can help analyze the issues people have with their teeth could change my life because this is only allowed to be used by those who specialized in it after putting forth a lot of years of effort. Finally, at the end, I would feel the sense of accomplishment after putting forth a lot of years of effort to get to the position where I am.
In conclusion, dentistry is not only the ideal career for me, but it would certainly change my life in a couple of ways. Orthodontists are especially known for their achievements and self-satisfaction after helping individuals get a perfect smile, however, they’re people to envy because they all get to work with high class determined people. Also, the technological advancements that are used in the process are fascinating and the individuals who are able to use them are worthy of respect. Overall, orthodontics could change my life starting from self-achievement elongating all the way to having the transformation of becoming a truly successful and useful person with a purpose in this world.
