orthopedic surgeon that one job

high school football season i dedicate my life to friday nights

Friday nights the lights come on

as i'm standing on the sidelines,

waiting for the home team to run out

anxiously awaiting while i mark off my checklist

ice, check, prewrap check, last but not least attention span check

the crowds standing up yelling, let kick off begin

watching the game closely with the schools athletic trainer

and within split seconds, BOOM it happens

running ,sprinting, out to the field

hurrying, quickly, this is a big deal

ow! no! screaming the quaterback

tell us whats wrong, we need to roll you over

but oh i see the damage has been done

it's broken i'm sure it's broken i say

call the paramedics right now as in today!

he can't roll over because his hips out of place

paramedics arrive on the count of three lift

boys knealing, stands crying, everyone gathered to pray

walking back to the sideline thinking man that was the wrong play

the game goes on and it's not the same

while i'm watching the game i can't stay into

thinking of the quaterback saying i know what i would do

i would cut there put this here and make him brand new

so anxious knowing I could do that surgeons job

i could make him brand new

i could make him BRAND NEW

My one job that would change my life need i say more?

a job that can change my life forever i would never want for more

four years of university, four years of med school

three years of residencey

i can make it thru

to get his job you need to be the best?

i mark that off my checklist because i have been taught nothing less

negative thoughts of not having time to do much may try and stop me

but i will block it out and not let it top me

with my family behind me seeing  my potential

i feel so blessed and also very grateful

with them rooting for me i know anything is possible

that one job that would change my life

an orthopedic surgeon need i say more?

it takes the best and only best

and i WILL qualify for that

an orthopedic surgeon

that one job

an orthopedic surgeon

that dream job

that one job

will change my life forever
