The Other Half

All I need.

All I need on a deserted island.

I could take my phone, but without a charger it renders useless.

Or maybe a food supply, with then no water.

I could take a pen with no paper,

Or paper with no pen.

No matter what I choose the other half is always missing.

No matter what I take it will never be enough.

All I need.

All I need on a deserted island.

The answer is the question itself.

All I need.

All I need on a deserted island is myself.

Because really, what do we have without everything we are?

What is left of us if we sell ourselves for material goods?

How easily can I be shaken if I give up every moral I stand for?

To take anything less than myself

Is to take absolutely nothing at all.
