Other Mother

Dearest Mother Gothel

Born of evil, one may say,

While truer, truest Gothel lies encased

And tucked away.

Trapped within the tower

Of her saddened, rotting mind,

Once ruler of herself

Good Gothel slips away from time.

Other Mother’s love for Rapunzel

Gives her power, so

she tries to find the strength

To let her “daughter” leave the tower.

And just when Other Mother

Feels that freedom is assured,

Our Dearest Mother Gothel turns a key

And locks the door.
