The Other Side

I don't sleep
I'm still awake
Even though my eyes are closed
I see other people
I see different forms

I strangle them
I fight them
But they come to me naturally
It is madrugada
But I'm not tired

I go back
It has been invaded
The tongue doesn't stop talking
I'm being calculated,
Evaluated, and gravity won’t stop pulling me down

The blockade distracts me from them
I wake periodically
I am free
I roam
I see people I never met

I know someone watching
I'm naive
I slipping
I'm doing my best to hold on
But I am back

Sometimes I forget
I can't remember what I lost
How long has it been?
A few days? Weeks? Months?
Where am I?

I slip into darkness.
The dim light shines
I reach out to it and I hold on
I am reminded and I remember
I leave willing

Back to the other side
