The Other Side

Hunger rages inside her

Yet the thought of food

Turns her stomach

Her pale demeanor

Hides her growing

Gauntness

No one knows the

Story she hides

Behind her eyes

Or the pain

She feels at night

Or the loneliness

That lurks in

Her heart

She walks with

Her eyes downcast

And prays that

No one recognizes

The changes in her

She desperately wants

To be saved

But her fear

Of rejection

Overrules her heart's wish

She watches the boy

She loves from afar

And hopes that one day

He'll look back at her too

But alas, all he does

Is stare right through

Missing what could be

A beautiful view

Alone and confused

She wanders the

Hallowed halls

Of Life

And thinks of

What it is like on

The other side

Is it dark and frightening?

Is it light and angelic?

Or is nothing but

Another shade of grey

Will it take away all

The Pain inside?

Or will it only intensify?

She lays in thought

And stares at the Sky

And wonders if

Anyone knows how

She feels inside

Do they care?

Do they even notice?

Or is she just a

Nameless face?

Will they miss her

If she's gone?

When she's found herself

On the Other Side.
